Application process

The Agency Having Jurisdiction locally, that is, your local Law Enforcement Agency, Emergency Manager, and Fire Department can request the assistance of Black Diamond by contacting the Virginia Department of Emergency Management at 1-800-468-8892.

Service area

VA
Volunteers that are trained and certified to provide search and rescue services and management for lost persons in a wilderness environment. Standard certifications include National Incident Management System, Search Team Member, CPR/First Aid. Many of our members are also trained in emergency medicine, man-tracking, wilderness first-aid, and technical/high-angle rescue.
