The Regional Housing Crisis Hotline conducts the initial intake assessments and referrals for emergency shelter, transitional housing, rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Western Tidewater. The hotline also does eligibility screening, referrals and waitlist management for financial assistance in form of rent, mortgage, including first months rent security, or utility deposits to avert eviction or end homelessness for multiple agencies in the region. Each referral source has a limited amount of referrals each month.
