(2) Express Service instructions - VitalChek Network - Obtain a certified copy of a birth, death, marriage or divorce certificate within 2-5 days through a courier service. A service charge must be paid by credit card. (3) Mail-in instructions - Turn around is estimated at 5 to 7 business days from the day the request is received. However, people are urged to allow sufficient time for delivery of the vital record. Checks or money orders should be made payable to State Department of Health. A fee of $12.00 is charged for each certification of a vital record or for a search of the files when no certification is made.
