A center and community based program for people with intellectual disabilities that serves ages 12 years through adulthood. Provides supports, as identified in Individual Support Plans, to increase socialization, adaptive skills, communication, and more through the use of community resources (field trips, volunteer opportunities, etc) and center-based activities (arts and crafts, personal hygiene education, horticulture, etc.).

Day Support Services Program is a non-residential, structured program of activity and/or training for adults with intellectual disabilities with the goal to maximum independence.

Medicaid Waiver programming at Goodwill focuses on providing supports to individuals so they may achieve their personal goals and objectives. The programs operate in accordance with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services licensing regulations. Individuals receive services both in the Goodwill center and community based settings depending on their preference and interests. Discovery Services are Day Support programs at Goodwill. Through the programs, individuals will receive the support they need to acquire, retain, and improve their skills in areas that they have identified. A wide variety of opportunities, in both community and center based settings, for peer interactions, enhancement of social networks, and to build natural supports will lead to greater independence. Individuals enrolled in Discovery Services may participate in Group Day Support, Community Engagement, or Community Coaching services. Programing is offered at the Roanoke Jobs Campus, Radford Jobs Campus, and Rocky Mount Jobs Campus. Individuals living in Goodwill's 31 counties and 13 cities service area are eligible for services, however are responsible for their own transportation.

Hazelwood House is a state licensed adult day health care (ADHC) center that provides services and opportunities for older adults and for adults with special needs in Mecklenburg and Brunswick counties.

The Adult Day Activities Program Team serve people with complex intellectual and developmental challenges who have aged out of the school system and do not qualify for work programs. Bridges the gap between children and older adults in a safe, homelike setting. Provides preschool and before and after school programs, all in an intergenerational atmosphere. Together, children and adults have participated in special activities, including a pen pal program and a celebration of our Appalachian heritage. Integrates the wisdom and insight of the elderly with the energy and enthusiasm of the young. Intergenerational day care offers children the opportunity to take part in carefully selected, supervised activities with senior citizens. It also allows family members to work or take a break from caring for a loved one. Skilled staff create individual care plans for participants. Staff includes a supervisor, activities director, registered nurse, and personal care attendants. Participants receive recreation, socialization, health monitoring and medication management in a home like environment. Each day we serve a USDA-approved breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Collaborate with the AllCARE for Seniors PACE program. Through this partnership, participants receive socialization, in conjunction with therapy and medical services while they attend day care. Generations continues to offer training and support sessions to caregivers throughout our service area.

The Day Support Program assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be more independent, learn new things, visit new places and make new friends. Provide individualized training in daily living skills, socialization, pre-vocational skills, and communication.

Meadowcreek Day Activity provides training and assistance to adults with developmental disabilities to acquire, improve and maintain functional abilities, while also achieving social integration with peers and the community. Meadowcreek Day Support provides opportunities for individuals to pursue personal interests and strengths in the community through art, music, technology, self-advocacy, and wellness. Meadowcreek coordinates with a variety of community-based services, including Charlottesville Parks & Recreation, Access Arts, Madison House, Meals On Wheels, Best Buddies, and Salvation Army.

Loudoun County Adult Day Centers help aging adults remain in the community as long as possible, providing support and respite to caregivers. All Centers are licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services. Three licensed adult day centers provide therapeutic activities for older adults who cannot safely stay home alone and who would benefit from a supportive environment. The centers, located in Leesburg, Purcellville, and Ashburn offer services for clients with cognitive and physical disabilities. All individuals are active participants along with their family members, support coordinators, and direct caregivers in the development of their specific program plan. Program plans support the individual needs, desires, and interests of each participant.

Daily program offering respite for caregivers and supervision, socialization, health monitoring, one-on-one assistance with recreational activities based on the participant's capabilities, provided by qualified staff volunteers.

These programs serve people who are recovering from mental illness by providing a safe and supportive environment that promotes independent living, social and interpersonal skills, and relapse prevention. Attending daily classes provides education about mental illness, substance use, and appropriate medication. Engaging in volunteering opportunities and engaging in social activities promotes empowerment, recovery, and competency. Services include: Face-to-face Service Specific Provider Intake (SSPI) that identifies treatment needs Development of Individualized Service Plans (ISP) which identify an individual's needs and goals in the area of mental health recovery and stability in the community Psycho-educational activities to teach about mental illness and appropriate medication to avoid complications and relapse Social skills training, peer support, and community resource development to promote empowerment, recovery, and competency Opportunities to learn and use independent living skills, and to enhance social and interpersonal skills Field trips to provide training in an integrated setting in order to increase an individual's understanding or ability to access community resources and meet goals outlined in the ISP

Serves adults 18 years old or older with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Provides individuals with opportunities and training in daily living skills, socialization, recreation and community integration. Transportation is provided to the program.

Program offers skills training to individuals who are not currently pursuing or interested in employment as the main focus of their day. Through a combination of structured group and individual activities, participants enhance skills in daily living, safety, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and other areas. Community integration is a priority for this program; weekly trips into the community help us to be successful in achieving this goal. Some of our day trip locations include the library, Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA), A Place to Be for music appreciation, The Air and Space Museum, and several other fun and educational venues.

The Arc of Southside provides individualized supports to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities that meet their needs to live as independently as possible. Services provided: Day Support Residential

Employment Services provides long-term employment, training, and supports for people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities at our site in Hampton. Employment Services offered through Government Contract work across the Nation. Employment Services provide adult students with disabilities the opportunity to participate in certification programs, preparing them for life-long careers in high-demand industries resulting in economic independence. Supported Employment helps people with disabilities gain employment with businesses in the community. Day Support provided to people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities at our site in Hampton. In this program, people with disabilities work on life and social skills, and also volunteer/participate in the community.
