The Learn to Swim program offered at both the Downtown and Jamerson YMCA prepares children for swimming and learning basic safety and swimming techniques. The program also builds self confidence. There are also components designed to develop the whole person through five specific components of personal safety, stroke development, water sports, and games, personal growth, and rescue. Provide a variety of recreation services for the citizens of Henry County, including 29 park facilities that are maintained by our department and are available for the public to enjoy. Also offer many different recreation programs for children, adults, families and seniors. Henry County Parks and Recreation is a member of the Virginia Recreation and Parks Society (VRPS) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).

Animal meet and greet with James River Parks System. 1-2 hour hike along the James River after nature center. Paddle Boarding. 2-3 hour paddle at a mixture of location options on the James River.

Miracle League provides children with intellectual, visual, or physical diverse abilities the opportunity to play baseball. All games will be played at Byrd High School, 10401 Courthouse Rd., Chesterfield, VA.
